Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a high-resolution radar imaging system, which utilizes a small aperture antenna to form an equivalent large aperture antenna by using signal processing techniques. In order to verify the camouflage effect of the camouflage targets in the electromagnetic environment, a ground-based SAR system is developed. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:(1) An SAR imaging system is designed and constructed. The high range resolution and high azimuth resolution are realized though wide bandwidth step frequency continuous waveform and system moving on a high precision rail respectively.(2) The control software of the imaging radar system is developed using object-oriented programming thinking, which overcomes the problems of traditional structured development methodology, such as long development cycles, complex structures and transplanting difficulties. The software is programmed under the Microsoft MFC architecture. The WinPcap library is applied to achieve the Ethernet transmission of high-speed data between the radar system and control software.(3) The RELAX high-resolution imaging algorithm is used to improve the azimuth resolution. The algorithm is verified by experimental data.(4) Tests and measurements of the SAR system are completed. The experiment results effectively verify the correctness and effectiveness of the designed software and hardware and imaging algorithm.
