In recent years, the Inter-vehicle communication technology, whose main application is to solve the problem of road traffic safety, has become a hot research topic of the world. With the progress of urbanization, traffic congestion and frequent traffic accidents have become the main problem that would cause negative impact on road traffic safety. Many emergencies did not receive timely rescue and cause casualties because the call for help was not in time and the rescue could not arrive timely. Therefore, after the accident occurred, how to implement effective emergency rescue and to prevent traffic congestion is essential. In order to implement effective emergency rescue and to avoid the ambulance that carries out an emergency rescue causing second collision and traffic congestion, this paper applied the Inter-vehicle communication technology to the emergency rescue and designed an emergency assistant system based on the Inter-vehicle communication. This paper analyzed related broadcasting standards and mechanism of the Inter-vehicle communication, introduced the main characteristics and network structure of VANET and studied the communication standard of the Inter-vehicle communication. The main analysis focused on physical layer and MAC layer protocols of the DSRC/IEEE802.11p and its adaptability to the high mobility of the Inter-vehicle communication. The wireless communication network protocol which is based on DSRC/IEEE802.11p presents an adaptive emergency broadcasting protocol, through which the ambulance could modulate radio frequency based on its speed, inform other vehicles nearby of the movements of the ambulance and make them bear off. And the vehicles that receive emergency information would broadcast the information and expand the scope of emergency information. In addition, this paper also designed an Inter-vehicle wireless channel propagation model and analyzed the error rate for the proposed propagation model. This system combined GPS (global positioning system) and GIS (geographic information system) to get real geographic traffic information and applied it to the open source microscopic traffic simulation software SUMO to extract road network file of real electronic map. Moreover, by applying the broadcasting mechanism and the channel model, the typical traffic scenes were simulated through a wireless network simulator NS-2to analyze the performance of routing protocols (AODV and DSDV). Results show that routing protocol AODV is more suitable for the Inter-vehicle communication of emergency rescue. Therefore, in order to obtain the optimal design of the emergency auxiliary system, this paper analyzed the performance of the system based on real traffic scene, combined the traffic simulation software SUMO and the network simulation software NS-2by using TraNS and applied the routing protocol AODV.In this paper the presented emergency ambulance assistant system can improve the emergency rescue system by making accidents get emergency rescue in time, reducing mortality of the accident, improving the efficiency of emergency rescue and effectively avoiding traffic congestion.
