Research Of CTIA OTA Performance Testing System For WCDMA Mobile Phones

With more attention paid to the radiance of the mobile phone, the measure of OTA-a good character of the phone radiance becomes more popular by operators and agencies due to its clear advantage. Thus the test of OTA has risen to the compulsory level. As a result, the terminal manufacturer must have a clear understanding of the phone radiance and in the meanwhile take various measures to improve the performance of the phone's emission and reception.The thesis introduces the current situation of the OTA measurement and also analyzes its main principles in detail. Besides, according to the CITA standard, this thesis illustrates the measuring and calibrating process of OTA and gives a brief introduction to GPIB, VISA and software system platform.To the point of the characteristics of the OTA measurement and the current development trend of the automatic testing system software, automatic testing system of the mobile station has been completed to meet the requirements of China's Ministry of Posts and Tele Communication on the OTA measurement. The following functions have been achieved in C Sharp programming:First and foremost, the software has solved the OTA automatic testing problem of the WCDMA mobile phone and meanwhile it has achieved some other functions such as initializing the equipment, controlling the calibration process, writing the test plan, controlling the measurement process, auto generating the test report and auto judging the test result.Secondly, the software adopts the three-layer structure design mode, which includes the presentation layer, the business logic layer and the data access layer. The whole system is divided into several independent sub module, which is beneficial to the further development, maintainence, deployment, and extending of the system.Thirdly, it has brought about the universal design of the software and has provided a standard equipment device driver for the testing system of the equipment library module in the way of the dynamic link library. Furthermore, it enables the testing system to be suitable for different types of instrument from different manufacturers. In a word, it is good for spreading the testing system and has also brought convenience for the users.In addition, the testing result has compared with the fact in HWA-TECH Information Co. Ltd and the universal property and effectiveness of the software which has been tested and verified. Eventually, reasonable proposals are put forward and proper measures are taken on the above issue.
