Research And Design For The Controller Of Solar LED Street Lamp

Street light is a necessary lighting equipment in everyday life. Solar energy is a new kind of environment-friendly energy. LED technology has the feature of low power and energy saving. The solar LED street lighting system which combined those three technologies is the trend of development nowadays. Solar LED street light controller is the core part of this lighting system. This paper did some design and developing work in this field.Firstly, based on analysis of main control objects(solar panel, storage battery, LED light) and key technologies(MPPT control, PWM control, wireless communication technology), this paper proposed a kind of overall design for solar energy street light controller. By measuring the voltage of solar panel, voltage and temperature of storage battery and the current of LED street light, the high-speed MCU processor outputed PWM signal after computation, so as to control the solar panel to recharge storage batteries and coordinate the storage battery to supply power for LED street light. Meanwhile, the working status of street light was transmitted by wireless RF technology. Thus, this system could collect solar energy more efficiently, protect the storage batteries more fully, drive the LED light more reasonably, and monitor the street light system more effectively. Secondly, this paper detailed the hardware designs of the key function modules, such as recharging control circuit of the controller, driving circuit of the LED street light, etc. Thirdly, the software has been programmed using expert control algorithm, etc, and it realized the functions, such as protection of overcharge and overdischarge to the batteries, oveload pretection and temperature compensation, etc. At last, the developed controller was applied in solar energy LED street light and the main functions and indexes of this solar energy LED street light controller were debugged in this work.After practical debugging and experiments, the solar energy LED street light controller developed in this paper has reached the expected aims.
