With the development of science and industrial technology, people have made great achievements in optoelectronics display field. More and more display products have been designed and researched successfully, which are widely applied in daily life. As a result, accompanied by the various display field and display condition, people, who are more and more serious with the display performance, are no longer satisfied with the simple projection. In order to satisfy their demands, the chip designing and testing of projector are needed to be further improved and optimized.Based on national high technology research and development program: high-performance LCoS microdisplay technology and prototype research, this paper studies the core component of projector:LCoS chip. Combining the unique advantages of liquid crystal technology and integrated circuit technology, adopting the special technology, LCoS chip is made by injecting liquid crystal between silicon substrate and glass substrate. Because all the circuits have been integrated in silicon substrate, LCoS chip has special functional structure.Aimed at the special characteristics of LCoS chip, based on space parameter method of JONES matrix and crystal optics, this paper stimulates the reflective optical path diagram by MATLAB. As a result, we get the relationship of liquid crystal cell thickness and twist angle to make sure the best parameters, which provides some theoretical guidance for industrial production. Based on application research of ferroelectric liquid crystal in LCoS chip, this paper adopts the same theoretical analysis of TN or STN liquid crystal. Because ferroelectric liquid crystal material has a higher respond speed, FLCoS chip has advantages of higher speed response and bistable characteristics, which are high potential in display field and optical fiber communication field. Based on spatial light modulator of LCoS chip, which adopts special drive circuit, and gets the function of grating to modulate amplitude and intensity of incident ray. This paper tests liquid crystal cell, LCoS chip and projector which are made by our program. Liquid crystal cell testing focuses on reflectivity, photoelectrical effect and responding speed, and adopts the testing platform of projector working principle; LCoS chip testing focuses on video driving circuit, and adopts FPGA as central control chip to test and optimize it; projector testing focuses on the brightness, contrast, resolution, uniform and lamp life, according to the existed electronic projector measurement standards>, combined America ANSI nine points testing standards. This paper has measured LCoS microdisplay projector and optimized the industrial technology of LCoS chips. At the same time, after checking in extensive literature, this paper proposes a new testing method:five points testing method, whose obtained results are more close to the value of ANSI.
