With the conglomeration of media, Chinese broadcasting and TV industry has made the first step in real industrialization competition. In the ten years of industrialization, Chinese broadcasting and TV industry plays a crucial role and its economic nature is becoming increasingly obvious. As a part of culture industry, broadcasting and TV industry is not only a reality, but also generates various complicated and fierce competition. However, there are also many problems in the process of its development, and it still lags behind its counterparts in western developed countries. The research on Chinese broadcasting and TV industrialization is a topic of great significance, which is the focus of attention of both academic and industrial circles. This paper chooses the practice of Chinese broadcasting and TV industrialization as the macro background, and the fierce industrial competition between JSBC and NJBC in Nanjing-a city in a developed region-as the specific object of research. Since the industrialization, their competition in the same city has become a model and aroused great concern in the industry. Through the analysis of this phenomenon, the paper summarizes their gains and losses, explores the rules in it, and puts up with some strategies, ideas and suggestions for TV stations in capital citis which are suppressed by superior provincial TV stations. It is worth mentioning that the competition between provincial and municipal TV stations and the research on this phenomenon are unique, because it is a Chinese characteristic due to different systems. This paper consists of four parts. Part one discusses the theoretical connotation and practical reality of broadcasting and TV industrialization. Part two analyzes the common approaches and different strategies of JSBC and NJBC. Gains and losses are discussed, and certain problems are raised in this part as well. Part three focuses on municipal TV stations and demonstrates several unsolvable contradictions and related policies in the current process of TV industrialization. Part four is based on the arguments above, which tries to work out a way for provincial and municipal TV stations to eliminate the kind of competition which might cause destruction to both sides.
