Print media which mainly spreads information via single dimension and view consists of newspaper and magazine. Print media, together with television and radio, makes up the traditional media. Compared with traditional media, the emerging electronic media mainly encompasses internet, mobile television, mobile-phone newspaper and digital newspaper. Although newly emerging, the electronic media is getting much popular with its advantages of spreading massive updated information in time. For hundreds of years, print media has been a main access for people to know the world. However, many scholars are getting worried about the future of the print media given the environment complicated by the emerging new media.Based on rich fact-finding researches, the author finds out that the challenges brought by the electronic media are not negative to the print media because the print media is making progress with the help of the electronic media. That is to say, the print media will co-exist with the electronic media. At the beginning, the author adopts the method of quantitative analysis. Through this analysis, the author finds out that the print media presents growing trend while the electronic media increases. This part comes to a conclusion that the print media still has a massive amount of readers given the fact that most readers have requests of both the print media and the electronic media. The second part of this paper focuses on analyzing the advantages of the print media. Through the analysis, the author finds out the reasons why the print media will last. The force behind the print media is the party newspaper and magazine. Different from the western countries. Finally, the author analyzes some home and abroad cases and finds out that although most print media open web edition, they just want to expand the circulation of their newspaper and magazine. The website is only a tool to enhance the development by the print media. Based on the above analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that the print media will have a sustained growth, let alone replaced by the electronic media.
