The extraction of information from SAR image on the road is the tremendous role on the map update, target recognition and SAR image classification. Especially with the SAR technology in our country continues to mature, Study on method of SAR image road extraction has also become an important content of SAR image features extraction.Based on the road performance characteristics, according to the method to solve road extraction issues and the method is that rock-bottom processing (classification and filter),middle processing (edge extraction) and the high-level processing (parallel detection). By the road of polarimetric and polarimetric interferometry characteristics proposed factors distinguish the road area, the road area extraction for SAR image filtering, and through improved edge extraction operator proposed the outline of the road, in this based on the Hough transform , straight connector of the road, parallel detection of the road accomplish road extraction.In this paper the main work and innovative points as follows:(1) through the introduction of some basic concepts and theories of the synthetic aperture radar, including the principle of Polarimetric SAR, the principle of Polarimetric SAR Interferometry, the types of scattering, SAR echo data polarization decomposition and the characteristic of the road Polarimetric SAR Interferometry, according to these characteristics puts forward the outline of road.(2) This paper Enumerate some of the traditional radar filtering technology, and introduce the advantages refined LEE filtering, in the filtering process by adding the road area, it change the filtering weights of the regional road, and keep the texture characteristics of the road edge . (3)Making edge detection technology processing on the basis of filtering, mainly adopts Canny operator and ROA operator. According to the principle of Canny operator direction gradient, Pauli decomposition uses for all polarization SAR images, so that in the three vector space inside realizes edge detection technology, and based on the basis of testing ROA operator using non-minimum suppression and tracking algorithm solved ROA operator suitable fur and fracture serious problem.(4) for the big scene under complex conditions SAR images, linear Hough transform are no longer applicable to detect technology of faults, the paper proposes the methods of eight field tracing realizes the Hough transform, solves the Hough transform in the SAR images straight detection shortage. And on the basis of linear detection realizes linear parallel connection as well as the path of edge detection algorithm, the ultimate extraction.
