Research On Jamming Techniques Of Towed Decoy

With the development of anti-aircraft missile, survival of aircrafts has been seriously challenged, TRAD (Towed Radar Active Decoy) came up to guard the aircrafts. As a new jamming technique, it plays an important role in electronic warfare. Currently, TRAD has become an efficient way against anti-aircraft missile guidance radar seekers. Therefore, it is significant to study on TRAD.PD radar seeker is main interfering object of TRAD. This paper, based on PD radar seeker, has analyzed the theories and jamming types of TRAD. The main works and achievements of this paper are centralized as follows:1. This paper has discussed the present domestic and foreign development of the jamming theory of TRAD, analyzed its interference principle from the speed tracking system and the angle tracking system against PD radar seeker. In addition to that, this paper introduces key parameters and their select principles. And then it introduces the release time and tactical measures of TRAD.2. This paper has established a model of the PD radar seeker system, and simulated it. Then it introduces the work principle of PD radar seeker, establishes signal models including radar transmitted signal, the received signal, echo signal, target fluctuation, antenna pattern, etc. The signal processing system model including Orthogonal two-channel processing, Pulse compression, Moving target detection, Constant False Alarm detection modules, is established and simulated in the following.3. In this paper, jamming principle of continuous repeater jamming of TRAD is discussed, the signal model is given. Then jamming effect of continuous repeater jamming is simulated in the PD radar seeking platform. This simulation is carried out in three cases as the target to the seeker is in far, middle far and close distance.4. Starting from the jamming signal forms, this paper discusses principle and signal model of the noise jamming pattern of TRAD. Here three types of noise jamming as RF noise jamming, AM noise jamming, FM noise jamming are discussed. Then when TRAD releases these three types of noise jamming, the jamming performance is simulated and analyzed.
