As human life into the information age, people's life and work have become increasingly inseparable from the network. However, as the network continues to develop, new problems have begun to appear. Computer networks are not formed by a single device, but contain a number of devices and subnets. In this case, if any of the network equipment failure is likely to bring a range of adverse effects. Network fault management technology with the continuous development of computer network technology, which to a certain network resources as the cost of building the structured cabling system, to achieve the operational status of network devices for monitoring and testing. How early detection of network failure, and faulty equipment for accurate positioning, the design of structured cabling system is facing major problems.In this thesis several key technologies of the structured cabling system in-depth study. Through the network topology discovery algorithm is proposed to improve the SNMP network topology discovery algorithm, the improved algorithm has found the completeness of the switch, and it can deal with dumb devices. In the study of network fault management, thesis presented for the characteristics of IPv6 network fault management solutions and network fault management module implementation.First thesis analyzes the structured cabling system related agreements, discusses the network topology discovery and network fault management approach. Then the network topology discovery methods are analyzed, proposed an improved SNMP network topology discovery algorithm, the improved algorithm and process is described. Then the construction of structured cabling system solution has been studied, according to the system requirements analysis, system architecture and main functions of the overall module design. Finally, the article describes the key modules of the system realization method, and the system was tested and analyzed to verify the reliability and validity.
