Any public communication activities have certain purpose and generate conesponding communication effects, whether communication effect is potential or dominant. A crucial factor which influences its producing and effect is the audience. The audience, which is the product of social environment and specific media, has its certain physiological and psychological mechanism. With the rapid development of new media, current audiences have become active selectors facing massive media information, instead of previous passive "targets". Therefore, on the audience-based media ecology, audiences' needs have become dominating factor for program creation strategies. If you want to produce clear communication effect, you should constantly master audience need, catering to the audience psychological demand, create active interaction between program and audiences, seek for scientific and reasonable ways to produce qualified TV programs.After introduced in China since 2004, entertainment talk shows have experienced the fate like a rollercoaster ride, just like many other programs. It has turned into a stagnant situation after a short period of prosperity. Ticky-tacky forms, blind imitation, the lack of innovation are the fundamental reasons for the adverse results. So some experts think prospect for this type of program in our country is not optimistic. However, the success of "upward every day" is providing an innovative development method for entertainment talk show in our country. "Upward every day" has explained traditional Chinese culture in entertaining ways, where civilian stars introduce China's history and culture. What's more, the program has seized the opportunity of 2008 Olympic Games, when global interest focused in China, which makes it a smash hit. The program has combined temporal spirit, entertainment, education and knowledge, which makes it stand out from intense competition among homogeneity entertainment. It has become representative of successful program which caters to the audiences as well as take on social responsibility.The paper starts with researching into how the program caters to audiences'need, then explores audience-based development strategies for entertainment talk show in China. This paper is divided into four chapters, the first chapter mainly reviews the origin and development of entertainment talk show, distinguishes between talking programs and talk shows, and analysis its adverse development status in China. Chapter two has summed up audience theory. Audiences are no longer simple readers, listeners or viewers in front of various media, nor are they merely information recipients. Current programs have become increasingly relying on audiences'taste and need. Chapter three and chapter four have conclude successful experiences of "Progress every day" based on audiences'needs. Hopefully, this paper could make a contribution to the development of China's entertainment talk show. To sum up, it is crucial for China's entertainment talk show to make programs based on audiences'needs and appreciation characters, propagate based on our country's policy system, and pay attention to spread our traditional culture in the meanwhile. Therefore, the production of the program must take into account innovative subjects, localize forms of talk shows, meet the demand of audiences'improving appreciation standards, and achieve long-term development potential.
