With the development of embedded technology and wireless communication technology, the demands of short-haul wireless communication technology become more and more urgent. ZigBee technology is a new wireless communication technology for the near field that appears in recent years.The prominent characters of ZigBee technology are low cost, low power, low complexity. The appearance of ZigBee technology provides a good solution for communication in the near field.In this paper, we reviewed the development of embedded technology.Introduce the characteristics of ZigBee technology and the development trend both in domestic and abroad. The paper designs a whole scheme of the wireless communication system based on ZigBee technology. Complete the software and hardware design of wireless communication node.Considering the requirement of system, design a wireless transceiver module with CC2430 chip which in line with IEEE 802.15.4 protocol, and choose the S3C2440 as processor core which based on the ARM920T kernel. Then use both of S3C2440 and CC2430 chip to set up center node's hardware platform. And the system selects the MSP430 microcontroller as microprocessor to construct the peripheral node of wireless communication system. The aim of whole system is to pass data between the peripheral node and center node.The center node selects Linux as embedded operating system, designs the driver of CC2430, and writes transmission program what using TCP/IP protocol. The software design of peripheral node is communication program between MSP430 microcontroller and CC2430 wireless module. Then complete the transmission of data from MSP430 microcontroller to CC2430 wireless module, ARM development system and PC.Finally, test the whole system, and complete transmission of test data through ZigBee and network. Test result shows that the system can complete communication reliably between peripheral node and center node.
