The Research And Design Of The Personal Knowledge Management Platform Based On Android

Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) is a new research area and also a new concept and method of the knowledge management. It refers to the process that can transfer the various types of individuals readily available information to the knowledge that is more valuable and beneficial to work, study by the tools and with the communication technology, computer technology and network technology. We found that a large number of PKM softwares are sufferring from the restrains of the computer terminals and net twines so that people can't record the suddenly produced inspiration, experience and important knowledge. So people can't carry out personal knowledge management effectively. The PKM software based on the mobile terminals and 3G network can help people effectively solve these shortcomings. Android of the smart phone is a completely free operating system which is based on the Java and runs on the Linux kernel. It can develop process rapidly and integrate network applications tightly. With the development of 3G network technology, Android technology will work closely with the PKM, which provides a new way for the development of the personal knowledge management.The personal knowledge management platform which is developed using the Android allows people to touch the knowledge management by the moblie at anytime and anywhere and improve the efficiency of people's personal knowledge management effectively. In addition, the applications of 3G are widespread, but not really relate to the PKM softwares. Therefore, the further research of the personal knowledge management platform based on the Android platform will not only create more social values and economic benefits, but also has some innovative value.The paper makes a certain extent research to the personal knowledge management platform from the theoretical and practical two levels. In the theoretical level, the paper first makes a tracking to the content of the personal knowledge management to reveal the relationship between the personal knowledge management and personal knowledge management. Subsequently it introduces the distinction between the information and knowledge, the conversion mechanisms of tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge. And then it gives highlighting information on the implementation of personal knowledge management principles and techniques. After that, it discusses the wireless network technology, functions and features of 3G technology, the system architecture and applications of Android, the building process of Android's development environment and the key technologies, such as java, XML, database which are used in the process of the development and so on.In the practical level, this paper first proposes the model of personal knowledge management based on Android(APKM) according to the analysis and comparison of the current personal knowledge management tools, the design purpose, requirements and the PKM's model which is came up with the Paulsy·A doctor. Next the model is devided into the adding module, browsing module, searching module, management module, communication module and the tool module six modules. Then it constructs the development environment of Android based on the high reliability and high data transfer rate and then carries out the model with the Java language, using the SQLite database services which are provided with the Android, combining with open source software in the Ecplise environment according to the PKM model based on Android and verifies the availability of the platform in the Dalvik virtual machine simulation environment which is optimized for mobile phones. In addition, in the specific implementation process of the platform, this paper supplies the operation of the system interface and some important codes. Through this platform, users can access quickly the network information by mobile phones and management related contents. At the same time, users can conduct the two-way communication to achieve knowledge sharing by Blog, E-mail and so on. In addition, users can also record the contact information by address book or use the calendar to create a memo, check the day's weather forecast.The paper sorts out the personal knowledge management, the relevant theoretical knowledge of Android technologycomprehensivly by worldscinet, Web search and compares the current smart phone operating systems by comparison methods, including qualitative and quantitative methods. In addition, the APKM platform is implemented with the program designing.Furthermore, the article points out the innovation, deficiencies of the APKM platform and makes a paulson for it. The biggest innovation of the paper is that it selects the personal knowledge management platform based on Android as the research object and makes the phone as a carrier, which renders the users get rid of the reatrains of computer terminals and net twines and carries out the personal knowledge management by the phone to achieve sharing and exchanging knowledge anytime, anywhere, which improves the efficiency of personal knowledge management effectively. The downside is that the function is not comprehensive, the interface is unpretty, the security is failure and some differences are present and so on.
