As the development of power electronics, the rectifier control gradu-ally entered from the analog era to the full control of the digital age. Thy-ristor rectifier as a mainstream demands high control precision and speed. Traditional control chips such as microcontrollers and other complex con-trol circuits have been difficult to adapt to the actual requirements, and gradually replaced by other higher performance chip such as ARM (Ad-vanced RISC Machines), DSP (Digital Signal Processing), and CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) . This paper presents a kind of three-phase fully-controlled bridge rectifier circuit control system based on CPLD and ARM. It uses PID (Proportion Integration Differentiation) pro-portional, integral, differential control strategy, aimed at achieving an embedded high-precision PID rectifier control system.The design of Hardware use ARM chip to achieve PID control module and realize pulse generator with CPLD. This structure can give better play to ARM chip system coordination functions, and can use the characteristics of CPLD programming flexibility to achieve pulse generator to reduce the computational burden of ARM chip. The ARM chip is STMicroelectronics companies STM32103FF 103VBH6 chip; CPLD use Lattice company chip LCMXO120 0C-3T100C. The monitor designed by Microchip with sea-blue. It is integrated color touch screen LJD-ZN-4300T. The design of Software used C language programming gave the realization method after the analysis and study of the STM32 chip using chat. CPLD realized pulse generator using Verilog HDL hardware programming language and gave its simulation by Modelsim SE6.1, which prove that the RTL (Register Transfer Level) circuit is correct.PID control algorithm parameter tuning, which used PSO (Particle Swarm Optimizer) particle swarm optimization algorithm as tuning algo-rithm. PSO algorithm has superior in global optimization and rapid con- vergence. Parameter tuning of PID control system is achieved on the basis of mathematical modeling. This paper used Matlab simulation software to realize the three full-bridge controlled rectifier circuit and in the simulation system completed control system PID parameter tuning.Finally, the paper introduces embedded PID rectifier control system actual debug results. The experimental results show the effectiveness of control methods and systems, and gave the problems during debugging. In the end paper gave the planning and development Prospect of improve sys-tems in the future.
