Research On Trusted Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol In Wireless Mesh Networks

Wireless mesh network is a kind of self-organized and distributed wireless Ad Hoc network in which each node communicates with others by multi-hops without using any fixed infrastructure. These features make wireless mesh network more widely used, but also make it simpler to be attacked. Because of the nature of self-organization and the limit of individual resources, wireless mesh networks can be compromised by malicious and selfish nodes. In current wireless mesh network routing protocols, the process of routing does not consider influence of malicious and selfish nodes.To reduce the harmful effects of malicious nodes and select trusted route when malicious and selfish nodes exist in wireless networks, this paper propose a wireless mesh network trusted routing protocol–THWMP based on subjective logic trust model and hybrid wireless mesh protocol of wireless mesh networks.THWMP routing protocol integrate subjective logic trust model and HWMP , combine trust value delivery and route select to improve credibility of route and success rate of data transfer without introducing much overhead. Compared to HWMP, when malicious and selfish nodes exist in network, THWMP can keep higher success rate of date transfer and higher throughput of whole network with limited increase in overhead.
