This paper introduces a management system about radar altimeter data based on Client/Server model. Data management, relating different kinds of data, is capable of extracting the information from data, establishing relationship between each other ,designing the database and conveniently realizing the organization, storage ,operation and maintain ace.This paper starts with a series of primary concepts and basic framework, specifically interpreting the theoretical basis needed in the design for a reasonable data management system. First of all, Normal Form is a breakthrough point that database designing should comply to. Besides, a database comes up with necessary methods and follows ordinary steps. After the design stage, data management and maintenance are the main work based on SQL(Structured Query Language).This data management system runs by detecting and modifying raw data before it's inserted into database and maintaining the selected data inserted in. The system could be divided into three parts by function: first, it's data detection and repair ,which provides a guarantee for the correct data; The second part describes the data operation, including inserting, deleting, updating and searching; The last part specifies the user management comprised of log and authority. Generally speaking, Top-to-Down and Down-to-top are two main ideas in this paper, focusing on functions on the whole as well as analyzing and summarizing sub-models .The whole system framework is based on Client/Server module on Windows platform. C++builder is chosen as the foreground development tool while the background is MySQL. The connect between them is established by ADO. C++ builder is a visualized and object-oriented development tool. Besides the basic function like some other database, MySQL provides some other advantages, such as open-source and simplicity. Considering the efficiency and the economics on design the management system, this combination of the development software is a good choice.
