At present, the range finder has a sophisticated market, including the non-contact and the contact range finder. As for the traditional range finder, it is not very convenient in practical application because which belongs to non-contact ranging. As for the non-contact rangefinder whose application scope is very extensive, such as ultrasonic, radar and laser to realize. From the first birth begins, which are widely used in various fields due to its excellent properties, and this paper aims to design a laser rangefinder by using the laser technology. Due to the special occasions safety performance is not quite high so that the using of rangefinder had certain limits. According to the natural environment and the application requirements, so the design of laser range-finders put forward higher request.This dissertation will overcome these shortcomings and design a hand-held phonetic laser rangefinder which has enough range, high precision, small volume, light weight and reaction speed, specific part as follows.Firstly, using DDS technology to solve the output frequency instability, which through AD9851 generates two different frequency modulation of the laser sine signals in order to realize "rough measurement" and "pure measurement", and ensure measured distance had enough range and high precision. Secondly, using FFT technology for temperature measurement, and made FFT transform for both signal of measurement and signal of reference, and realized the digital phase millions of calculation smoothly. Thirdly, verified FFT realization methods based on DSP. Fourthly, using AD50 pronunciation chip changed measured values into speech signal, and expanded the scope of application of rangefinder. At last, using TMS320VC5402 as the key processing chip increased real-time of range.Meanwhile, the key technology of laser rangefinder is studied, such as received signal by the interference and noise disposed of by amplifying, filtering, frequency mixing to perfect the photoelectric detection circuit. The needing attention were analyzed, such as Circuit system error,system debugging. In order to improve the using security of rangefinder on special occasion, and also made some introduction for explosion-proof electric appliance equipment.
