LD-pumped all-solid-state laser has been a hot research field in recent years, due to its advantages of high efficiency, compactness, long lifetime and etc. Green laser has important applications in many fields. In this paper, based on development of a product of LD end-pumped green laser, some theoretical analysis and experimental study on LD end-pumped green laser have been performed, and we have made it commercialization.Based on rate-equation of four-level system, related characteristics of LD end-pumped green laser was analyzed. After comparison among some laser crystal and nonlinear crystal, we chose Nd:YVO4 as the laser crystal and LBO as the frequency doubling crystal.Theoretical model of thermal effects was discussed. Through ABCD matrix theory, numerical calculation of cavity was presented, and a thermally-insensitive cavity was designed considering thermal effect. When the incident power was 7.69W,2.72W green laser was obtained. The optical-optical conversion efficiency was up to 35.4%, higher than other similar lasers.
