Anthropology Analysis On Marriage Rituals On North Countries Of Hunan Province

Marriage is the base of family and kinship, and the most important content of social relations, the research of marriage customs in different times and different areas plays an important role in understanding history and society. In modern society, the production and life in rural society is greatly influenced by industrialization and urbanization, many customs in traditional wedding ceremony are produced very big change, exquisite become less and less in the process of wedding. The traditional color is gradually disappeared in the modernization process, those who once played an important function, has begun to weaken. Based on the above, the author has greatly interested in the wedding ceremony of rural areas. At present there are many research literatures about wedding in China journal net papers, but the paper about marriage etiquette is not much, about the rural marriage etiquette in North Countries of Hunan Province is much less. This paper selects the author's hometown Yangjiaoshan Country, Kangwang Town as the infested.In the last few decades, the traffic in Yangjiaoshan Country is block, information is backward, so the people are simple, honest and unspoiled, and various etiquette patterns still keep the old traditional shape. Since Kangwang Town is pointed as economic and technology development zone, with the urbanization, and many traditional customs began to fade, more and more young people willing to accept the new thing, so it is very necessary to research the traditional wedding customs in Yangjiaoshan Country.First, in the introduction, the author present situation of research, the research significance on marriage etiquette and the methods adopted in this paper, namely the field work method, including participation observation, visiting, living experience and so on, the author collects a mass of first-hand data. In the second part of this article, the author gives a case description the wedding ceremony of Yangjiaoshan Country, Kangwang Town.the author makes a research on the process of marriage ceremony that includes the following seven sections:matchmaking,meeting each other,man offers small gifts,man offers big gifs,asking for marriage,marriage gifts,newly wed couples going to bride's family. In the third part, the author introduces the social function of the wedding ceremony from the cultural anthropology perspective, including four aspects:display function of traditional culture, education function and inheritance function, and communication function of production skills and life skills, festive function. At the end of the article, the author gives a simple conclusion about the case description and the social function of the wedding ceremony.
