| Objective To investigate the expression and clinical value of human telomerase reverse transcriptase(hTHRT) mRNA and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) mRNA in the peripheral blood of small HCC patients. Methods RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of hTERT mRNA and GGT mRNA in the peripheral blood of 30 patients with small HCC,18 patients with benign liver diseases and 12 healthy volunteers. Results hTKRT mRNA was detected in 24 of 30 of peripheral bloods obtained from patients with small HCC, and 6 of 18 of peripheral bloods obtained from patients with benign liver diseases. GGT mRNA-H was detected in 20 of 30 of peripheral bloods obtained from patients with small HCC, and not detected in the peripheral bloods obtained from patients with benign liver diseases. Both hTKRT mRNA and GGT mRNA F were negative in all healthy volunteers. The combination of hTKRT mRNA and GGT mRNA analysis achieved a positive rate of 26.7% in the diagnosis of small HCC, significantly higher than that of AFP (26.7%), P<0.05. Conclusion The hTKRT mRNA and GGT mRNA-H have a significantly expression in small I ICC patients, the combination of hTKRT mRNA and GGT mRNA-H analysis appeared useful in the early diagnosis of small HCC. |
