Objective:To detect expression of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in Patients with adenomyosis, in order to investigate the role of VEGF in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis. Methods:levels of VEGF expression were detected in97adenomyosis patients and68hysteromyoma patients preoperative by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA),whose VEGF expression serum level were also detected in postoperative2months and one yearResults:According to the results, the serum level of VEGF expression in adenomyosis patients was significantly higher than that of hysteromyoma patients before operation.(P<0.05).Forthermore, the serum VEGF levels in symptomatic adenomyosis patients (such as menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea) was much higher than that of asymptomatic patients (P<0.05). Among97cases of uterine adenomyosis patients,35patients underwent total hysterectomy,30patients underwent supracervical hysterectomy,32 patients underwent adenomyoma excision.and6cases of hysterectomy patients and7cases of single adenomyoma excision whose specimen pathology reports suggested positive margin, were Accepted6courses of the GnRH-a treatment.1case of cervical margin positive patients had chronic pelvic pain after7months and1case of adenomyoma excision patients were discovered new uterus lesion after9months.97adenomyosis patients were followed up after operation2months and1year, to detect serum VEGF. The serum VEGF was significantly decresed after operation compared with preoperative level (P<0.05),moreover the serum level of VEGF had no significant difference between2months and1years. Serum VEGF level had no significant difference between three operation methods after operation2months and1year.. The VEGF expression in49patients with negative margins had no significant difference compared with13cases of positive margins in serum VEGF after2months.But The serum VEGF increased significantly..after1years in one case who had chronic pelvic pain patients after7months and the other who suggested recurrence of the lesion by B ultrasonic. Conclusion:The expression of serum VEGF increased a lot in adenomyosis, while its expression could be decresed much after operation, which suggest that VEGF may play an important role in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis. |
