Objective:To explore the relationship between the expression of Th17 cells and Treg cells in peripheral blood and the development of primary non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)in elderly.Methods:The ratio of CD4+T cells subsets Th1,Th2,Th17 and Treg cells in peripheral blood of 65 elderly patients with NSCLC were evaluated with flow cytometry(FCM).The mRNA expression of IL-17 and FoxP3 in peripheral blood of the elderly patients with NSCLC were detected by Taqman probe real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction(FQ-PCR).At the same time the elderly healthy people and the non-elderly healthy people were detected and comparative analysis.To investigate the correlation of the Th17 and Treg cells,NSCLC in elderly and immunosenescence.Results:1.The Th17 and Treg cells and the mRNA expression of IL-17 and FoxP3 in the elderly patients with NSCLC were increased compared with the other groups(P<0.01).The Treg cells and the mRNA expression of FoxP3 in the elderly healthy people group were increased compared with the non-elderly healthy people group(P<0.01).However there were no significantly statistic differences in the Th17 cells and the mRNA expression of IL-17 between the elderly healthy people group and the non-elderly healthy people group(P>0.05).There were no significantly statistic differences in the Th1 and Th2 among the three groups(P>0.05).2.Logisic regression analysis showed that the increased risk of lung cancer were significantly associated with age ( OR=1.165,P<0.05 ) ,the number of Th17(OR=2.830,P<0.05)and Treg(OR=7.982,P <0.05).3.The Th17 cells had positive correlation with the mRNA expression of IL-17(r=0.719,P<0.01)and the Treg cells had positive correlation with the mRNA expression of FoxP3(r=0.686,P<0.01).The Th17 and Treg cells and the mRNA expression of IL-17 and FoxP3 in the elderly patients with NSCLC were closely associated with the TNM stage(P<0.01).Conclusions:The up-regulation of Treg cells with age maybe were closely related with immunosenescence.The Th17 and Treg cells palyed an important role in the oncogenesis and development of NSCLC in the elderly patients.
