| Purpose: To research virulence factors of Enterococcus faecalis expression in the biofilm of starvation phase and after two root canal conventional drugs. Methods: E. faecalis in exponential phase, log phase and starvation phase were incubated on polystyrene blocks. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was used for detecting the expression of gelE, ace, esp, cylA in exponential phase, log phase, starvation phase and after 1% ,2.5%,5.25% NaClO and Ca(OH)2(PH=10).Results:1. Untreated state, the expression of gelE, ace, esp, cylA of the Enterococcus faecalis biofilm was stronger in starvation phase than in exponential phase and log phase (P < 0.05).2. Untreated state, the expression of gelE is stronger in starvation phase than ace, esp, cylA (P < 0.05).3. Treated state, the expression of gelE, ace, esp, cylA of the Enterococcus faecalis biofilm was stronger in starvation phase than in exponential phase and log phase (P < 0.05).4. Treated state, the expression of gelE is stronger in starvation phase than ace, esp, cylA (P < 0.05).5. Treated state, the expression of gelE,ace, esp, cylA of the Enterococcus faecalis biofilm was weaker in 5.25% sodium hypochlorite than in 1% ,2.5% sodium hypochlorite and Calcium hydroxide. Conclusion: The expression of gelE,ace, esp, cylA of the Enterococcus faecalis biofilm was strengthen in starvation phase after treatment. It may contribute to the predominant role of E. faecalis involved in persistent periapical infections. 5.25% sodium hypochlorite plays an important role in inhibition of biofilm formation. gelE plays an important role than ace, esp, cylA in forming biofilm formation... |
