Computer Tomography(CT) is one of the technologies in contemporary medical image.The art of medical CT is evolving rapidly and the last years have seen cone-beam CT system with the flat-panel detector.Compared with 2D fan-beam or parallel-beam CT, cone-CT system is able to achieve higher special resolution and better utilization of photons. It also requires less scan time. With the development of hardware and algorithms, cone-beam CT has become practical in recent years. Because of its high speed, high reliability, low cost and good compatibility, PCI local bus dominated in a variety of computer bus standard, so designs based on the PCI bus interface standard have become a priority choice in related project development. CPLD, complex programmable logic device, it is a semi-custom circuit in the field of ASIC, it not only solves the shortcoming of the custom circuit, but also overcomes the disadvantage of the limited gate number of original programmable devices. The use of CPLD is very flexible, a CPLD with different programming data can product different logic functions.This paper focuses on the control process of cone-beam CT. By analyzing the structure and process, a solution is proposed in the dissertation. A PCI bus-based control card is designed. The whole system mainly include two parts:the hardware circuit design and the software design. In the hardware circuit design part, we selected the PCI interface chip to be compatible to the PCI bus, used VHDL and CPLD to design the hardware logic control module, used Protel 99 to design schematic gragh and PCB graph of the system. In the software circuit design part, we used WinDriver design the card's driver.
