Objective: PYD and CARD are two domains in NALP1 as well as ASC , cspase1 which leads to inflammatory reaction and apoptosis, could be activated by CARD and PYD-PYD interaction between NALP1 and ASC. The expression of NALP1 and ASC in colorectal cancer was studied by RT-PCR and Western-blot to see the correlation with age, gender, dukes stage and the position of the tumor, and their expression location in colorectal cancer were studied by immunohistochemistry.Methods:1.RT-PCR: to discuss if the age, sex, dukes stage and position of the tumor are correlated with the amount of expression of NALP1 and ASC mRNA in colorectal cancer.2.Western-blot: to discuss if the age, sex, dukes stage and position of the tumor are correlated with the amount of expression of NALP1 and ASC protein in colorectal cancer.3.Immunohistochemistry: the expression of NALP1 and ASC protein in colorectal cancer tissue.Results:1.RT-PCR: the expression of NALP1 and ASC mRNA are not correlated with the age, sex, dukes stage and position of the tumor.2.Western-blot: the expression of NALP1 and ASC protein are not correlated with the age, sex, dukes stage and position of the tumor.3.Immunohistochemistry: the expression ot NALP1 and ASC protein presented fine brown particles in cytoplasm of colorectal cancer. Conclusion: NALP1,ASC express in cytoplasm of colorectal cancer. The expression are not correlated with the age, sex, dukes stage and position of the tumor.
