【Objective】The present study sought to analyze genetic polymorphisms of surfactant protein D(SFTPD) and investigate the association between polymorphisms and bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD) in Han racial Wuhan newborns.【Methods】Genotyping of SFTPD polymorphisms was performed by polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis(PCR-RFLP) in 218 Han racial Wuhan newborns(including BPD group and control group) and gene sequencing was used to check the results.【Results】The frequencies of TT,TC,CC of SFTPD Met11Thr were 10.5%,49.1% and 40.4% respectively and the allele frequencies of T and C were 35.1% and 64.9%. The frequencies of GG,GA,AA of SFTPD Ala160Thr were 54.6%,39.4% and 6.0% respectively and the allele frequencies of G and A were 74.3% and 25.7%. SFTPD Met11Thr and Ala160Thr displayed no significant association with BPD compared with control group.【Conclusion】(1) Difference in SFTPD Met11Thr and Ala160Thr polymorphisms were significant among several ethnic groups (P<0.05) . (2) Polymorphisms of SFTPD Met11Thr and Ala160Thr displayed no significant association with BPD compared with control group (P>0.05) .
