Objective To investigate the correlation between the levels of pretreated serum thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb)and thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb) of patients with hyperthyroidism and the incidence of hypothyroidism after radioiodine treatment. Methods All the 160 patients with hyperthyroidism who received radioiodine therapy between January 2008 and February 2011 were followed up for 2 years. Reporting gender ,age , serum levels of pretreated thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb)and thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb) and the occurrence of hypothyroidism during the follow-up time. According to serum levels of pretreated thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb)and thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb), all the patients were divided into four groups:A group (TGAb<60.00U/ml,TPOAb<60.00U/ml ,n=17),B group(TGAb≥60.00U/ml,TPOAb<60.00U/ml,n=15),C group (TGAb<60.00U/ml,TPOAb≥60.00U/ml,n=36),D group (TGAb≥60.00U/ml,TPOAb≥60.00U/ml,n=92). X2 test and logistic regression were used to analyze the the correlation between the levels of pretreated serum thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb)and thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb) and the incidence of hypothyroidismResults In 160 patients, mean age 33.9±11.6 years, including 57 males and 103 females. The total incidence of hypothyroidism was 34.4%. X2 test showed the significant difference of the incidence of hypothyroidism after radioiodine treatment.,among the groups (P=0.021<0.05 ), and D group (41.3%) was higher than A group (5.9%), the difference was statistically significant(P=0.001<0.01) . Logistic regression analysis showed the levels of serum TGAb (Wald=4.415,P=0.042<0.05), and TPOAb (Wald=6.850, P=0.009<0.01) seemd to be the important factors for hypothyroidism after radioiodine treatment. Conclusion The levels of serum TGAb and TPOAb may be close correlated with hypothyroidism.,with the higher levers of serum TGAb or/and TPOAb before treatment, the higher incidence of hypothyroidism.
