Assessment Of The Methodological Quality Of Literature On Clinical Therapeutic Research In Journals Of Pediatrics

Objective:This study aims to preliminary understanding the methodological quality of literature on clinical therapeutic research published in Chinese Journal of Pediatrics and Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics,and to find out the current domestic pediatrics clinical therapeutic research literature methodology design and write flaws, and favors the pediatric clinical workers to avoid in the future research avoided,also conducive to guide clinical research literature writing and the papers of reading.Materials:The clinical research literatures in Chinese Journal of Pediatrics and Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics published in 2000 and 2009 were researched.Method:The clinical research literature which published in Chinese Journal of Pediatrics and Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics in the year of 2000 and 2009 manually were analysed. Screening out the clinical therapeutic research literature according to clinical therapeutic definition of clinical epidemiology,and divide them into the randomized controlled trial document, no randomized controlled trial literature.The methodological quality of literatures by using the evaluation criterion and evaluation table were assessed.Result:The number of RCT papers which selected from Chinese Journal of Pediatrics was 11 article in 2000,3 article in 2009.The number of RCT papers which selected from Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics was 13 article in 2000, 34 article was 2009.The number of non-RCT papers which selected from Chinese Journal of Pediatrics was 20 article in 2000,6 article in 2009. The number of non-RCT papers which selected from Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics was 32 article in 2000,36 article was 2009.Evaluate result showsed the pediatrics clinical therapeutic research literature have many shortage in methodological design and writing,including the sample size calculation, baseline description, intervention measures, the control of the treatment consistency, blinded's use, lost to follow-up,adverse reaction reports,tatistical method of selection,etc. Besides RCT therapeutic literature existing problem in random sequences generated, random conceals, random implementation method descriptions not enough or not properly randomized. The deficiencies affect the outcome of the truthfulness and reliability.Conclusion:The methodological quality of clinical therapeutic research literature needs to be further improved,Some authors didn't pay enough attention to some key items of clinical test methodology.In future, strengthen the spread of clinical epidemiological on clinical testing methodology, improve the quality of scientific research literature in needed.
