Objective:To investigate the effect of green light laser combined with electron flexible cystoscope in posterior urethral stricture and obliteration after surgical treatment of prostate hyperplasia.Methods:The evaluation included 19 cases of urethral stricture and obliteration patients after surgical treatment of prostate hyperplasia who were examined by electron flexible cystoscope between July 2008 and July 2009. The average age was 64 years old (range from 58 to 79). The course of diseases lasted from 2 to 12 months. 3 cases have had suprapubic cystostomy.10 cases of all were after prostatectomy, the other 9 were after TURP.3 cases were urethral stricture and the other 16 were urethral obliteration. By analyzing the operation time, postoperative catheter time, the change of Qmax and postoperative complications etc. summarize the preoperative diagnosis, operation technique and postoperative treatment.Results:All cases were successful without serious complications without failure. The mean operative time was 67 min (range 25~90 min). During the follow-up of 2-8 months, sixteen cases got satisfactory results or were cured after 2-3 times of urethral dilation, the other three cases were treated successfully after scheduled urethral dilation lasting 4-8 months. No cases had incontinence.Conclusion:It is safe and effective to apply green light laser combined with electron flexible cystoscope in posterior urethral stricture and obliteration. This kind of operation should be demonstrated with advantages of simple procedure and less complications.
