Quality Of Life Evaluation In Patients Who Suffer From Osteoarthritis Of The Knee After Total Hip Arthroplasty

Objective:The limb alignment must be changed after total hip arthroplasty, these changes may produce the influence on the legs other joints.Our survey studied about Quality of life evaluation in patients who suffer from osteoarthritis of knee after total hip arthroplasty,and discussed the influence of limb alignment to knee.Methods:We choosed 24 patients,who suffer from pain and osteoarthritis of knee.The patients were also accord with the indication of total hip arthroplasty。Both before and after the THA,we measured the length of lower extremity,and took X-ray,and measured the angle of limb alignment,and examine the activity of hip and knee,then get the evaluation of VAS and SF-36.Results:1.The differents of the femoral offsets before the surgery were significantly related to the differents after the surgery and longeh of lower extremity and AR also had significantly relatation before the surgery to after the surgery.2.The activity of hip had significantly related before the surger to after (P<0.05), but knee had not significantly related.3. Hip-knee-ankle angle, knee physical valgus angle, knee physical valgus angle and coronal tibiofemoral angle were significantly related significantly related to after (P<0.05), and both tibial plateau-tibial shaft and ankle angle ware not significantly relatate before the surgery to after(P>0.05).4. he scores of each part in SF-36 were significantly relatate before the surgery to after.Scores of Bodily Pain decreased,and scores of Physical Function,Role Physical,Vitality,General Health,Emotional,Social Function and Mental Health all have significantly improvement.The scores of VAS were significantly relatate before the surgery to after.Conclusion:1.THA can recover the femoral offset and the same longth of lower extremity。THA changed the limb alignment lines ang angles,which lead to the change of distribution of knee's load.3. Quality of life of the patients, who suffer from osteoarthritis of knee,improved half a year after the THA and the scores of pain decreased.
