Correlation Between Ying And Yang Deficient Constitution And Blood Routine: Red Blood Cell And Platelet Parameters | | Posted on:2012-03-25 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:E D Zhang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2214330338960450 | Subject:Traditional Chinese Medicine | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective:To investigate the correlation between Yin and Yang deficient constitutions and subjects' red blood cell(RBC) and platelet parameters in order to explore observable characteristics for the two TCM constitutions.Method:TCM constitution questionnaires were distributed randomly in the Physical Examination Center of the 2nd Provincial Hospital of Fujian.162 examinees entered the study. Scores for the yin and yang constitutions were isolated and correlated to the RBC and platelet parameters using SPSS.Result:Yang deficient constitution were found to be negatively correlated to red blood cell count (RBC), hemoglobin(HGB), and hematocrit(HCT) (P<0.05), and positively correlated to RBC volume distribution width(RDW) (P<0.05). Yin deficient constitution were found to be positively correlated with platelet count(PLT) and thrombocytocrit(PCT)(P<0.05), and negatively correlated to mean platelet volume(MPV) (P<0.05).Conclusion:1. There is correlation between red blood cell parameters and Yang deficient constitution. Yang deficient constitution may be more susceptible to anemia.2. There is correlation between platelet parameters and Yin deficient constitution. Yin deficient constitution may be more susceptible to thrombosis. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | TCM constitution, yang deficiency, yin deficiency, red blood cells, platelet | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
