ObjectiveA large number of neurobiological research shows that stress response process is essential for the healthy growth and development of the human nervous system, which affect the physical and mental health as a major factor. The effect which the stresses make on the health is an ending produced by multiple factors work together on the body, but the traditional multi-factor analysis is only concerned about the relationship of various factors and the diseases isolatedly, lacking of relevant analysis from the theoretical framework. Modern stress theory provide a theoretical framework for us, so using the theoretical framework to confirm the relationship between the stress and the health play an important role.Subjects and MethodsThe survey data in April 2007 from Henan Institute of Occupational Medicine in the medical examination of all the 728 radiation staffs. The radiation staffs were measured by the recognized psychological scales. The survey method is filling the questionnaire respect according to the same conduction. The scales include:Chinese version of the Perceived Stress Scale (CPSS), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire in Chinese short form (EPQ-RSC), Burnout Survey (MBI-GS), self-esteem Scale (SES), General Health Questionnaire (CHQ-12).The research design is modern stress theory framework in origin, which combine the living mental measured data and introduce structure equations model, fitting the stress, the middle varables and the health dates and analyzing the direct and indirect effects which made by all kinds of factors.ResultsThe total score of General Health Questionnaire are regarded as the dependent varables, job title, means radiation exposure, stress, emotional exhaustion, alienation, a sense of professional inefficient, neuroticism and psychoticism and internal and external to the measurement of psychological and behavioral factors are considered as the independent variables, so multiple lines of stepwise regression analysis showed that:impact on health score which ranked first is the pressure scores, followed by nervousness, emotional exhaustion, professional inefficient. Combined with modern stress theory model, adapt construction equations model and after numerous selections choose the best fitting model, model evaluation statistics are the F= 675.3, P=0.000 (P> 0.05 and the fitted model shows no significant differences between theory, model fitting is better), coefficient of determination is 0.827.The results show that the incidence of burnout come from the double impact of the pressure (0.45) and self-esteem (0.15), and job burnout may occur mainly in emotional exhaustion (0.93), cynicism (0.70) and personality (-0.49), pressure plays a greater impact on self-esteem, self-esteem is mainly reflected in emotional exhaustion (-0.22), professional inefficient (-0.20), physical symptoms (-0.10) and personality (-0.12). The impact of stress and health is not a simple causal relationship, but a " multiple causes and multiple results "At the same time the study provided clues and basises for raising efficient intervene measures, improving the physical and mental health level of the radiation staffs and forming efficient intervene model.
