| Objectives: Through single hot-water footbath to the young and olderly female of health, contrast the Effect on arterial stiffness between them. Then further explore the mechanism of the effect of single hot-water footbath on arterial stiffness. Methods: 16 health young female students in college and 16 health female olderly in community were recruited in this study with a crossover design, in which each subject underwent both the control and hot-water footbath treatments. The subjects of the control and the treatments were measure CAVI(the index of arterial stiffness nowadays),systolic, diastolic, heart rate ,body temperature before footbath ,immediately of 30min hotwater footbath and 30min after.Result: All subjects participated in the experiment based on state CAVI, ABI, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature is in the normal range of baseline measurement. After the measure of baseline of every subjects, the subjects of the treatment were going to foot-bath 30min in 41-43℃hotwater,however the control keep quiet. All subjects in the control group 0min, 30min and 60min time, CAVI, ABI, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature were no significant changes. In the foot group, young women and older women foot subjects compared to youngfemale subjects CAVI (6.7±0.46; 6.2±0.46; 6.5±0.49, p <0.05) lower rate than older female subjects (8.2±1.0; 7.8±1.0; 8.1±1.0); young female subjectsby ABI (1.07±0.07; 1.06±0.07; 1.06±0.06) did not change significantly, older female subjects ABI (1.12±0.04; 1.05±0.07; 1.09±0.05, p <0.05) decreased significantly; young women in diastolic blood pressure (58.5±5.9; 52.2±5.4; 56.8±5.2, p <0.05) and systolic blood pressure (94.8±7.4; 89.8±6.8; 93.3±7.0) decreased in varying degrees, only significant difference between diastolic blood pressure, older womenSubjects diastolic blood pressure (110.7±12.1; 105.1±12.7; 111.3±13.9) and systolic blood pressure (65±8.0; 59.6±8.4; 65.3±8.0) were decreased, no significant difference; young female subjects, heart rate (70.5±9.6; 82.3±11.9; 71.2±9.2, p<0.05) and older female subjects (73.2±8.1; 74.8±9.3; 68.8±8.3,p<0.05) increased in different degrees, and has significantdifferences; young female subjects body temperature (36.6±0.3; 37±0.3; 36.5±0.3, p <0.05) and older female subjects (36.7±0.4; 37.1±0.3; 36.8±0.3, p <0.05) immediately after the foot bathbody temperature were significantly increased, with significant differences.Conclusions:30min footbath can reduce the elderly and young female CAVI, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, reduce older female's ABI, increased body temperature and heart rate. This study shows that a single foot can reduce arterial stiffness, improve artery health, and reduce young female's better than in older female. |
