| Objective:The objective of this study was based on the patients with thoracic and lumbar vertebrae fracture accompanied with incomplete spinal cord injury, to compare the functional rehabilitation followed by the therapy of the drug Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside with and without Jiaji electro-acupuncture therapy, to assess the influence of Jiaji electro-acupuncture therapy on patients'functional rehabilitation, and to summarize the effect of Jiaji electroacupuncture therapy in the treatment of spinal cord injury. It is necessary to provide these evidences for clinical application and promotion.Methods:40 patients with thoracic and lumbar vertebrae fracture accompanied with incomplete spinal cord injury were selected to study, and they all received surgical operation. After 9-12 days suture removal, the patients were separated into two groups evenly and randomly, the experimental group and the control group. In the experimental group,20 patients were given normal drugs Monosialotetraheosylgangliosides with Jiaji electro-acupuncture therapy; in the control group, the other 20 patients were only given normal drugs Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside. Eight weeks later, we compare the data about ASIA for feeling assessment, the strength assessment, the assessment of walking ability, and ADL evaluation between the experimental and the control group.Results:1,Based on the data of ASIA for feeling score, the strength score, the ADL score, and the score of walking ability, there was no significant difference(p>0.05) before the treatment between these two groups. However, there was a significant difference in decreases of the clinical scores between the experimental group and the control group (P<0.05) after eight weeks'treatment. There were a significant difference before and after the treatment (p<0.05) in both the experimental and the control group.2,Based on classification of recovery by ASIA (valid at recovery 1), there were 13 patients recovered in the experimental group. The efficiency of the treatment was 65%. In the control group, there were 6 patients recovered, and efficiency of the treatment was 30%. The results were significantly different (P<0.05) between the experimental and control group.3,There was no adverse reaction in the experimental group after the Jiaji electro-acupuncture therapy. The clinical application of Jiaji electro-acupincture therapy is safe and effective.Conclusion:1,The treatment of Monosialotetraheosylganliosides with Jiaji electro-acupuncture therapy can significantly improve the feels, muscular strength, walking ability, activities of daily living of the patients with thoracic and lumbar vertebrae fractures with incomplete paralysis patients.2,The treatment of Monosialotetraheosylganliosides with Jiaji electro-acupuncture therapy is more effective than the treatment of Monosialotetraheosylganliosides alone to the patients with thoracic and lumbar vertebrae fractures with incomplete paralysis.3,The clinical application of Jiaji electro-acupuncture is safe and effective and is worthy of promotion. |
