Objective:This project is to study the supplemented Wuling San of the prevention and cure effect on kidney damage of the rats caused by experimental hyperuricemia. and provide further experimental evidence for the mechanism.Methods:48 Wistar male rats were divided randomly into 6 groups,8 rats per goup. Which are the normal group, the model group, three treating groups(high-dose, middle-dose and low-dose) and the control group. They all received adenine and ethambutol hydrahloride by gavage with the exception of the normal group. At the same time, three treating groups were administered with supplemented wuling san at the dosage of 10ml/kg,7ml/ka,4ml/kg respectively. The control group was administered with allopurinol at the dosage of 45mg/kg. Drugs were chronically administered to rats at AM 9:15-11:15 for 21 days. Blood was collected on the 8th,15th,22th day to test the content of SUA, BUN and Scr of each group.Result:Supplemental Wulingsan can effectively reduce the level of serum uric acid (UA), creatinine (Cr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) of the experimental hyperuricemia induced rats(p<0.05), especially the supplemental WuLing San admistered gourp with the middle-dosage showed a more effective statistically significant.Conclusion:Through experimental research, Supplemental WuLing San can reducie the serum uric acid of the rats with hyperuricdmia while it can also improve the renal metabolism, suggesting its certain degree of protection effect on improving renal function. It is one of the effective herbs which can prevent and treat hyperuricemia and renal damage. |
