Objective:To analyze the Clinical features and imaging characteristics of moyamoya disease. Discuss the application value of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in the diagnosis of moyamoya disease. Methods:A retrospective analysis of Clinical features and imaging characteristics of moyamoya disease was conducted on 10 adult moyamoya disease patients enrolled from 2010.3-2011.3 in Ward of Neurosurgery. We reviewed the 10 adult MMD patients'gender, age, Symptoms, results of imaging examination and treatment.Results:(1) The onset of moyamoya disease in patients aged 23-53 years old, the cerebral hemorrhage was the main type of disease, the main clinical manifestations was sudden headache and dizziness. Male to female ratio o is 4:1. (2) On CT or MRI, there were cerebral hemorrhage in 5 patients (50%), cerebral infarction in 4 patients (30%), cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction in 1 patients (10%). On CTA,MRA or DSA, carotid artery, anterior cerebral artery and middle cerebral artery existed stenosis or occlusive lesions, there were 9 patients with bilateral arterial stenosis or occlusion (90%), which was more than patients with unilateral lesions. Moyamoya vessels were seen in all the 10 patients (100%) on DSA. On DSA,3 patients were also examed with aneurysm (30%). (3) 6 patients received medical treatment,4 patient received operation,3 patients combined with aneurysm were embolized. Conclusion:The age of onset of moyamoya disease has one peak in adults (around about 35-45 years), clinical manifestations are various, while cerebral hemorrhage are more common; CTA and MRA are non-invasive methods to select, diagnosis and Follow-up of this disease. DSA is the gold standard in diagnosis of MMD, Clinically suspected cases of MMD should accept DSA early.
