| Objects:To get some information about the nutrition status and influencing factors of children under 2 years old in poor areas of minority, and provide evidence for improving nutritional status of children under 2 years old in poor areas of minority. Methods:The stratified cluster sampling was employed in this inveatigation.664 Children under 2 years old and their parents in 4 poverty-stricken counties in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (Pingguo County, Rongshui, Tiandeng, Bama County) were randomly selected. They were surveyed to obtain the following information:the growth and development status, dietary nutrition status, feeding behavior of parents and influencing factors of nutritional status. Non-conditions Logistic regression model was used to analyze the affecting factors of anemia, wasting, children with underweight, and childhood obesity; Descriptive epidemiology was used to describe children's status of feeding nutrition. Results:The survey results showed that the prevance rate of children malnutrition was 78.61%, of which the prevalence rate of anemia, wasting, under-weight and obesity were 25.90%,33.58%,9.94%,9.04% respectively. The main affecting factors on nutritional status of Children under 2 years old in the poor minority region:male gender for child(OR=1.61), premature delivery(OR=2.61) were the risk factors of anemia, high and above school education for mother(OR=0.61), breast milk (OR=0.57) or other types of milk(OR=0.57) for the first bite of food after the birth of a child, not yet weaned for child (OR=0.45) are protective factors for children's anemia. Primary and below education level for mother (OR=2.04), weaned for child in the survey (OR=1.81) were risk factors of wasting. Gender of female was protective factors of wasting. Low birth weight(OR=4.55), the education level of junior high school or below for father (OR=2.58), the size of family≥4 (OR=2.36), eating soy foods regularly for the recent year (OR=2.38), the time of the first time for complementary feeding> 6 months (OR=2.01) were risk factors for underweight, eating fruits (OR=0.35) regularly in the recent year were protective factors for underweight. Neither of parents worked outside the home (OR=0.38) or only the father worked outside the home (OR=0.44), children also being breast-fed (OR=0.17) were protective factors for childhood obesity. Conclusion:The prevalence of malnutrition of children under 2 years old in poor minority areas was high, we should take appropriate measures to improve the nutritional statue. |
