The Clinical Study Of Bianmi â…  Hao On Constipation Complicated By Hemodialysis For Spleen-Kidney Deficiency And Dampness Originating From Interior

Objectives:To observe the clinical results of Bianmi I hao on constipation complicated by hemodialysis for spleen-kidney deficiency and dampness originating from interior, find out the mechanism of action and provide useful therapies for hemodialysis complications.Methods:Based on literature, the clinical research came into action.1 By reviewing the literature, article systematized and summarized the constipation understanding of TCM about the etiology, pathogenesis and principle-method-recipe-medicines. at the same time, the paper sumed up the present research progress of western medicine on the etiology and pathogenesis of constipation, which was the theoretical foundation of clinical research.2 A total of 54 outpatients were included in the study 27 of them were given basal therapy and Bianmi I hao by oral intake. These patients formed the study group while the remaining 27, as the control group received basal therapy plus Shenshuaining Capsules orally. All the cases were followed up for a period of 30days. Then, variations from stool situation scores, TCM syndrome scores, Hemoglobin and Albumin, untoward reactions were registered as basic data, before treatment and after treatment. Taking advantage of SPSS16.0, both groups data were processed and analyzed.Results:1 There were no statistical significant differences between the study group and control group about reducing stool situation scores (P>0.05).The study group had significant differences compared with the control group on reducing TCM syndrome scores, enhancing hemoglobin and albumin level, the totel effective rate (P<0.05).2 Only 1 case with mild diarrhea occurred in the study group, but serious diarrhea, bellyache, hematochezia, anorexia, debilitation, etc. were present in lots of cases from the control group.Conclusions:Bianmi I hao had a good therapeutic effectiveness on constipation complicated by hemodialysis for spleen-kidney deficiency and dampness originating from interior. It could improve clinical symptoms obviously, increase hemoglobin and albumin, then correct anemia and malnutrition, so as to enhance the quality of life for maintenance hemodialysis patients and help to bring themselves back to the society.
