| The study was carried out on the fenced meadow in Sidunzi,Yanchi,Ningxia from Mayto November in2010. We discussed the changing pattern of the soil quality, communitystructure and species diversity with different grazing way. And the main results as follows:1. The water content of soil in different grazing way showed that: in the soil from thedepth of0-20cm, the water contents in6-sector and2-sector rotation grazing meadow werehigher, and those in free grazing or fenced meadow were lower; in the soil under20cm, thosein4-sector and6-sector rotation grazing meadow were higher, and those in free grazing orfenced meadow were the lowest.2. Enclosure could decrease significantly soil bulk density and increase water-holdingcapacity in desert steppe. There is a higher water-holding capacity, total and pore porosity inthe6-sector rotation grazing meadow, and there is a tendency that soil physical propertiesbecome worse with decreasing the quantity of rotation.3. The grazing could decrease the pH value of soil and increase the content of soilorganic matter, total nitrogen, available N and available P.4. The grazing could decrease significantly vegetation coverage. Generally, vegetationcoverage could increase with increasing quantity of rotation. In this study, the communitystructure in6-sector rotation grazing meadow is equally distributed and has dominanthigh-quality forage species, thus has community stability.5. The species diversity changed with season in different grazing meadow. The fencedmeadow has the highest species diversity, then the2-sector and6-sector rotation grazingmeadow, and the free grazing meadow has the lowest.6. There was a higher positive correlation among species in4-sector rotation grazingmeadow, a pair of species had highly significant correlation(P<0.01), and two pairs of specieshad significant (P<0.05). And there was a lower positive correlation among species in freegrazing meadow and showed no significant correlation, and the quantity of mutualindependent species was15.7. there was a tendency that the above-ground biomass has shown decreased and thenincreased with a further reduction. The above-ground biomass in6-sector rotation grazing meadow was higher than2-sector and4-sector rotation grazing meadow, and free grazingmeadow,7.28%,10.05%,22.31%respectively. |
