Tamarix Classification And Surface Morphology Observation In Gansu Province

Tamaricaceae includes tamarix.There are about 90 tamarixs distributing across western Europe, the Mediterranean area and India.18 tamarixs and 1 variant are found in China for sand prevention and appreciation. Many Xinjiang academics have studyed it, Zhang Yunfei and Zhang Yaojia(Lanzhou University) have made a systematic research on the tamarix in Western China.Due to the large difference in genetic divergence between two species and hybridization, it is hard for us to distinguish them. This paper makes observation, indentification and summary on tamarixs herbarium stored in Herbarium of Lanzhou University, Herbarium of Gansu agricultural university forestry college, Institute of Botany of Northwest Normal University, Herbarium of North West Agriculture and Forestry University and Chinese Virtual Herbarium.Literature research and outdoor survery have also been made.It reached that there are 15 tamarixs in Gansu. With observation on the surface morphology anatomical structure by anatomical lens and asana microscope imaging system, new characteristics are found and added into the old documents. Morphological characteristics between Tamarix chinensis and Tamarix austromongolica have been defined, the Gansu Tamarix Key is formed by summarized surface morphology, which provides rationale and reference to Gansu Tamarix identification, exploitation and species resources reservation.
