In this study, Landsat TM images for the data source to RS, GIS and GPS integration integration technology with traditional production technology combined ground measurements,combined with knowledge of maps and related, to the East of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu that temperate continental arid climate zone status of grassland resources in Yongchang County Survey, which on grass production, nutrient content of vegetation in desert grassland and grazing animal nutrition analysis and evaluation of balance as Huacao beach of Yongchang County .This is the following results:Natural Grassland includes five classes (8 sub-categories). The county has 298,200 hm2 natural grassland. One class of the county temperate desert grassland area of 60.03%, hilly grassland accounted for 22.88% temperate, alpine shrub meadow accounted for 8.79%, temperate desert grasslands accounted for 5.98%, accounting for 2.32% of alpine meadow, which compared with the 80s of last century because of an area of virgin grassland reduced the 19,900 hm2 in Yongchang County.1. Soil temperate desert of Huacao beach area of 25,300 hm2, the soil background is different from the gravel and sandy temperate desert, with the Normalized difference vegetation index using to build their grass yield estimation model (y=0.3522e0.0387x, R2=0.5882), has better representative and accuracy .The desert grassland of Huacao beach estimate edible forage fresh yield per hectare4430.03kg, the total edible yield of 89,800 t .2. Huacao beache Theory of desert grassland carrying capacity of 24,600 sheep units, livestock grazing throughout the year about 24,400, to maintain the overall balance of supply and demand. June-October pasture growth peak carrying capacity of high desert grassland, there is no overload and in November to next May, especially from January to April, the grass is less than the maximum carrying capacity is the number of grazing livestock, are overloaded by state , Moreover, since the uneven distribution of grazing livestock ,overgrazing in some areas is serious.3. June-October can be provided in Huacao beache desert grassland pastures grazing livestock grazing to meet the demand for crude protein, and from January to May and November-December can not meet their needs, but to maintain the basic balance of the total throughout the year. Huacao beache desert grassland Rich in calcium and phosphorus content of less than, to meet the needs of grazing livestock on the calcium, and phosphorus deficiency in the state throughout the year.4. In order to ensure normal production and livestock grazing, feeding in winter and spring should be categories such as legumes and protein feed meal, and throughout the year in need of feeding phosphorus.
