Hydrological monitoring is one of key techniques on allocating water resource for irrigation. By reason of supervise stations in the irrigation zone being numerous and scattered and the traditional way of a monitoring, construction and maintenance costs being high, the construction and maintenance cost are all high for utilizing traditional data transmiting ways such as , special lines, telephone lines, and short-wave, and so on. At the same time, lots of problems commonly existing in the present water-supply automatic supervising system include low density of data collection, the change of season, low utilization rate of system, difficulties of systematic maintenance, unstability of communication, high expenses, and so on.In this paper, aiming at problems mentioned above and basing on characters of existing GSM module, the writer puts forword a technical project on automatic water-measurement, which is mainly about using function of short message for data transmission without setting an independent communication network. All the system is very flexible, economic and dependent because of fully using existing communication resource, safety and stability of system warranted by a network company. This system consists of signal dispose module, communication module, wireless communication module, computer terminal module. The signal dispose module adopts SCM C8051F120, which is mainly used to carry out data collection, dispose, systematic setting and communication control. The wireless communication module adopts industrial GSM module, sending and receiving short message. The computer terminal is connected with the upper communication module, receiving data through short message. The computer terminal use Lab-VIEW software to design the fictitious apparatus platform for data collection and dispose, recognizing the serial communication from PC compoter to wireless module, simultaneously collecting, analyzing, calculating and storing measurement signal online, making a good interaction between user and computer. Depending on the design, customer can simultaneously supervise the change of height and yield of water, and after measurement, he can also read the stored data for the further detailed analysis.On the basis of thearetical analysis, the project of automatic water-measurement system within micro controlor is put forward; the TC35 module and hardware interface circuit between the lower GSM and the upper supervisor computer are designed; the programme on data collection and communication of the lower computer is made; the software of data analysis and the upper computer is compiled by using Lab-VIEW software. According to the result of simulated measurenment, the whole system operates high-speed; data transmits accurately; measurement error is minor; and data can be transmitted through GSM module.
