This paper based on from the similar natural environment, economic and cultural exchanges with more complete closely, belong to farming area in the upper WeiShui river as the research object, the selection of WeiShui River upstream forest vegetation destruction is relatively serious during Ming and Qing dynasties as of this research period, from historical geological perspectives in Ming and Qing dynasties forest vegetation the process of change. This paper contains six parts as follows:The first part is stated in part, mainly includes selecting reasons and significance, academic history review and research method and so on.The second part mainly discusses the natural environment and humane environment of this region. It also briefly analyzes the forest distribution status and utilization characteristics of this region in the pre-Qin, Qin Han dynasties, Tang and Song dynasties.The third part analyzes the forest distribution status in Ming and Qing dynasties. Its characteristics was as follows: there were many forests exiting in this area in late Ming to early Qing, which gradually reduced after mid Qing dynasty, what worse some places were bare. Also it conducts a field study on old and famous trees.The fourth part mainly discussed the reasons and ways that the forest vegetation of this region was depleted during the Ming and Qing dynasties. They were the land reclamation, war destruction and the utilization of the pastures during the period from Ming and Qing dynasties. In addition, charcoal burning was one of the reasons for the reduction in trees.The fifth part mainly introduced the harms of the damage of the forest visitation of this area in Ming and Qing dynasties. They were aggravating drought, serious soil erosion and the frequently outbreaks of natural disasters. In order to alleviate the crisis, people paid more attention to forest planting .It also gives some suggestions and ideas on drawing lessons from history lessons and how to build good ecological environment and sustainable development.The sixth part mostly reconsiders the changing process of forest vegetation in this region.
