With the development of the socio-economic, energy shortage is more and more serious. PMSM, as a high effect motor, is applied to various fields, such as industry, logistics, transportation, life and so on. Compound PMSM with its low-speed, high torque characteristics is applied to the oil field pumping units. It innovate drive control of the pumping unit to achieve a greater degree of energy conservation, improve the efficiency of the pumping.The paper mainly design a novel inverter control system for compound PMSM, using TMS320F2812 as main control MCU and Vector Control as core algorithm. The contents are as follows:(1) Briefly introduces development process, structure and characteristics of PMSM. Low-speed, high torque characteristics of compound PMSM is mentioned. After introduces control method and development of sensorless control, technical basement of PMSM control system is mentioned.(2) Mathematical models of PMSM and vector control principle are introduced in detail. Feasibility of compound PMSM inverter control system is certificated by simulating the model of the system in Matlab/Simulink.(3) Hardware design of the system is introduced. The hardware design is based on the minimum system board, and expands storage space and several peripheral interfaces.(4) Software design is based on TI routines. Current and voltage sampling, the encoder interface modules are changed and improved, and fault protection and human-computer interaction modules are added. Then the algorithm is tested to make some necessary adjustments and optimizations.(5) Compound PMSM speed open-loop operation test is carried out. The difficulty of the closed-loop operation is discussed, and the corresponding solutions are proposed. Finally, it briefly introduces energy self-feedback design in inverter control system.
