In recent years, with the development of economy, market demand of the dump truck is increasing, and it is widely applied in various areas, especially in the poor condition of mining site. Lifting mechanism is the core institution of dump truck. And its design quality has critical effect on the performance and security of a dump truck. However traditional analysis and design method can't meet the requirement of this complex product design. With the increasing popularity of the application of the CAD system in our country, parametric technique is used in mechanical field. The development of production parametric CAD system has become certain trend in information and digital enterprise production.In this paper, the working device was studied in kinematic and dynamic ways, and this thesis made an introduction of the working device structure and its working principle. A fast dump truck design system is set up by the further development upon Pro/E using VC++6.0 and Pro/Toolkit, which are the further development tools of Pro/E. A method of combining three-dimension modeling technique with parameterized design is used in this system. A method of combining three-dimension modeling technique with parameterized design is used in this system.According to the theories and technique of automatic-assemble, this paper completes automatic-assemble of parts and subassembly by twice-development tool Pro/Toolkit of Pro/E.The mechanical and hydraulic model were set up to combine CAD modeling using the virtual prototyping technology. Co-simulation was done using the ADAMS/Hydraulics module. Taking the minimum lifting force as the objective functions, a parametric optimization model of the lifting mechanism is developed, and simulates the mathematic model in the optimal way with the MATLAB software, thus making the structure more reasonable.The paper develops a system of parametric and automatic-assemble system. This system is operated easily and practical. Through this system, all parts could be designed and automatic-assembled on visual circumstance. This system would improve the quality and efficiency of design, and shorten the development cycle, so it could satisfy the development of modern technology. In the research, the virtual design and virtual simulation are the cores.
