With the performance improvement, circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers have been more and more popularly used for power generation in China. For the state environmental emissions standards gradually increase, users are increasingly high requirements of its desulphurization and the desulphurization efficiency of the CFB boiler is very concerned now.The study is based on a 310 t/h CFB boiler and introduces the effect of particle size distribution of limestone on desulphurization in CFB boiler. The fuel of 310t/h CFB boiler is the mixture of petroleum coke and coal. To meet the environmental emissions standard (≤800mg/Nm3), desulphurization is diagnosis and optimization because of high-sulfur petroleum coke properties. The problem of CFB boiler is desulfurization efficiency is low under nominal Ca/S , it is difficult to meet the SO2 emission target. The experiment on desulfurization by limestone in 310 t/h CFB boilers is completed. The effects of limestone particle size distribution are obtained on efficiency of desulfurization and some operating parameters such as bed temperature. The main reason that CFB boiler desulfurization efficiency did not meet the design requirements was found, and the applicable particle size distribution of limestone applied to the desulfurization in the CFB boiler is suggested.
