Beyond visual range air combat will be the main form and development trend of air combat. That puts forward the higher request to guidance technique. Any single guidance method can not have satisfied these battle requests. So the composite guidance technique must be adopted. In this paper, the question of hand-off method between midcourse and terminal guidance about infrared imaging air-air missile to be considered. The main content of study is in two aspect: midcourse guidance and hand-off algorithm.Frist, the minimum-time interception midcourse guidance is given, that is optimized, and analyze trajectory character of differently minimum-time interception midcourse guidance. Then seeker hand-off method is given. To improve seeker probability of capture, optimal interception time and optimal interception navigation tendency of seeker hand-off are solved, hand-off time is optimized. Based on the adaptive trajectory hand-off algorithm, study influence to hand-off parameter with hand-off time and navigation error, analyze data link influence to hand-off.After that, error sources of hand-off between midcourse and terminal guidance are researched, error distribution of hand-off between midcourse and terminal guidance are given. Finally, establish the mathematics model of six-degrees-freedom guidance-control system simulation model of infrared imaging air-air missile with midcourse and terminal guidance hand-off. minimum-time interception midcourse guidance algorithm, seeker hand-off algorithm and trajectory hand-off algorithm are tested by simulation, the simulation results prove that the scheme of system is feasible.
