Urban water supply pipeline system is an important part of the lifeline engineering. In several destructive earthquakes recently years,the damage of the urban water supply pipeline system not only affects the smooth progress of relief work,but also causes secondary disasters accompanied with serious casualties and economic losses. Moreover,most of the urban water supply pipeline systems in Chinese cities have not been passed through normal seismic design. So,for the needs of earthquake resistance and hazardous prevention,this paper focuses on the seismic reliability of urban water supply pipeline system,which based on related projects and research at home and abroad.The main contents are included as follows:1. With the earthquake investigations,the seismic damage behavior of water supply pipeline is analyzed. This paper improves the method of seismic response of water supply pipeline in the seismic code(GB50032-2003).Also,the finite-element-model of water supply pipeline is built,the seismic response are analyzed and compared with the method in the seismic code improved or not. The improved method have been programmed.2. The seismic reliability model of water supply pipeline is established.And combined with an engineering,the seismic reliability is evaluated by the program.3. This paper presents the procedure for evaluating the connectivity reliability of the water supply pipeline network,discusses its engineering application and verifies the effectiveness of the program.4. According to the functional requirements of water supply pipeline system,this paper elaborates the hydraulic analysis and the functional reliability based on hydraulic pressure. The functional reliability of an engineering is analyzed by the Matlab program.
