In recent years, infrastructure construction is greatly developed in our country. Especially, highway tunnels are constructed rapidly across the country, which have irreplaceable advantages in overcoming terrain obstacles, shortening the distance and improving the quality of traffic operations. However, due to complicated geological conditions of the tunnel, tunnel construction processes are likely to cause surface cracking, rock deformation, collapse and other bad geological disasters. Monitoring and analyzing tunnel deformation, as well as achieving the information of surrounding rock stability and support status, are therefore practically essential in optimization of design and construction.Based on Shangguan Tunnel Monitoring Project of Hang-Rui Expressway, this thesis studies the monitoring and analysis of tunnel deformation to determine the rock stability and support reliability so as to ensure the smooth construction in the context of engineering geological conditions and construction methods of Shangguan tunnel. The monitoring and analysis are conducted in two aspects: surface deformation and rock deformation. First, monitoring sections of shallow segment and surrounding rock are set up to monitor the displacement of and surrounding rock using surveyor's level and Electronic Total Station. Then, with the typical sections selected, the surface monitoring data of are processed while the horizontal convergence and crown settlement monitoring data are fitted and analyzed using MATLAB Curve Fitting Toolbox. Finally, the results of two different sections are compared and analyzed respectively to study the characteristics and patterns of surface deformation, as well as the influence of surrounding rock grade and lithology on rock deformation.It is shown from the analysis that with respect to the surface deformation, the first working hole has more surface subsidence than the latter working hole, the opening of which has an influence on the first working hole, and the trend line of surface deformation is saddle-shaped; with respect to rock deformation, when one of the rock grade and the surrounding rock lithology is the same among the different sections, the other plays a dominant role on the rock deformation, which also shows regular changes with its changes. And it's different between the influences of the rock grade and the surrounding rock lithology.
