With vehicle population increasing rapidly in China, the growing traffic jam has been one of the most serious traffic problems which will greatly limit urban development in major cities. Rational and scientific transport planning in New Town is necessary to guide coordinated development of all modes of transportation for healthy and sustainable urban development. As a kind of green, environmentally friendly, low carbon modes of transportation, bicycle will inevitably become an important component of New Town traffic system. New bicycle transportation system planning methods should be set for some methods in Old Town no longer appropriate New Town. Therefore, it is important to study bicycle transportation system planning methods for reasonable planning of bicycle transportation system and sustainable development in New Town.This paper mainly study bicycle road network planning, bicycle parking and coordination between bicycle and other modes of transportation by regarding the New Town bicycle transportation system as study object. Analysis on bicycle traffic demand should be accomplished before road network planning. To begin with, location influence coefficient of traffic generation and attraction in different traffic zones can be determined by quantifying land use information of those traffic zones, so can location potential energy of traffic zones. Then forecasting method of New Town traffic demand is acquired by introducing location potential energy into New Town traffic demand forecasting model based on population and land use. Once again according to results of traffic demand forecasting, combined model of model split and traffic assignment has been established, by which, bicycle traffic distribution throughout the region and its proportion in urban passenger traffic can be predicted. Finally, finish application analysis of the model above with relative information of Shenzhen Guangming New District.Given certain functions undertaken by different regions in New Town planning process, bicycle road network planning can be divided into different zones on the basis of those certain functional regions. It is the bicycle road network scheme that is adopted that composed with corridor and collector-distributor road as main framework while connection as basic component, and in the scheme, bicycle traffic among different regions is loaded by corridor and connection while those between adjacent domains or within one region is loaded by collector-distributor road and connection. Taking into account bicycle traffic environment requirements, the scheme designs some bicycle recreational lane and provides suitable traffic volume for different road styles. Besides, the scheme plans different cross-sectional forms for different levels of bicycle roads and analyzes intersection types in network. With TOPSIS method evaluating planning road scheme, the best scheme is obtained in accordance with sorting planning schemes by close degree, based on which, Guangming New District bicycle road network scheme can be established and evaluated in the light of information of Shenzhen Guangming New District planning road network.This paper divides bicycle parking planning into origin parking and destination parking and then applies for different parking demand forecasting methods. Origin and destination parking demand forecasting is mainly based on New Town land use planning to establish model, while transfer parking relies on different transfer stations reasonably attracting long-distance bicycle traffic and transfer traffic within the region to build model. Bicycle transfer station addressing principles and transfer facility are given for bicycle traffic converging with other modes of transportation. In the end, on the basis of results of study above, bicycle transfer stations and parking layout scheme of Shenzhen Guangming New District are planned.
